Regional Room
The Northwest
Region was awarded a grant from the National Institute of Literacy
to develop a gateway to the LINCS National system. LINCS stands for
Literacy Information aNd Communication System. The purpose of LINCS
is to connect adult literacy resources in the nation via the
Internet with one common interface, to help practitioners from
around the nation access and share these resources easily. Another
goal of the project is to help adult literacy programs integrate
technology into their classrooms
For the LINCS
Project to meet the regions’ needs, we first must find out what the
needs are. And that is the purpose of this page. We have created
three short needs assessment instruments. We are asking directors,
coordinators and instructors to fill out this instrument and return
it to the LINCS Project. Please select the appropriate assessment,
fill it out and return to the LINCS project. Thank you so much for
your time.
